The VW G12 EVO is a nitrate-free and phosphate-free coolant antifreeze type. The 1.5-litre TSI Evo petrol engine made its debut in the Golf in 2017 and is now being rolled out across the range as a replacement for the old 1.4-litre turbocharged unit. Phone VW head office get a case number and refuse to pay, they may have a soft ware update again but it doesn't work on some cars, and another planned if indeed that's the problem I don't think they know themselves or keeping it quiet. Had a few discussions about the fault with them and they were talking about having it in for a week to diagnose but based on other reports of no fix yet I started the rejection process. They will spend much of the working day.
I wonder if using this fuel has eased the problem ? This system was initially built to control the ignition and throttle system.

For the aluminum HT, the EVO just gives you more of an all-mountain set-up including longer travel fork (100mm), 1x10 gearing, wider front tire/beefier tires overall, wider/more agressive handlebar, and larger front rotor (180mm) when compared to the more racy standard Stumpjumper HT (the Comp 29). Hopefully a greater groundswell of customers commenting on their experience will focus the manufacturers' minds to prioritise this issue. Oo wdym changes overtime?

I personally doubt any fix is coming anytime soon.. but wish you luck in your quest. Perhaps the update forces a remapping of throttle response under different scenarios and takes around 600 miles to cover them?

They did say that they might be able to offer another vehicle or something but I had lost confidence in the brand and dealer by then so didn't discuss that and went ahead with the rejection.

Bought a Hyundai Ionic and no further problems. Yes I have noticed that pre updates and post update but the revs don't go much above 1000rpm when I let the clutch out, don't know for sure but it could be to stop stalling. on 11 April 2019. It's currently available in the Golf, T-Roc and Arteon models as well as other Volkswagen Group vehicles.
It will never have you grinning like a Group B rally fan sniffing the door handles of a Delta S4 through Kielder, but it wont have you crying into your McLaren team baseball cap at a Grand Prix, either.

Personally, I rejected my car and they didn't ever see it/ test it - they can tell from the chassis number - so this "testing" is in my view just a yarn.. That means after 3 months I got a 100% refund and moved on.
